1. 【CAUTIONS】
- Don’t talk in the library.
- We constantly ventilate the buildings.
- Some parts of library services and facilities are unavailable.
- Keep a safe distance.
- Please use the library in a short time.
- Put on a face-mask.
- Carry the health observation checklist. (application or check sheets)
- Don’t enter the library when you’re unwell.
- There are temperature measurement cameras at the entrances. Please check your temperature before entering the libraries.
- Wash and sanitize your hands diligently.

5. Returning materials
Currently, Central Library and North Library lend materials with the normal lending period (e. g. 15 days for books in open stack room).Returning can be done at book drops, which are available 24 hours next to the library’s main entrance, as well as at the library counter. You can also return materials by YU-PACK (a parcel delivered by Japan Post). You are to pay the shipping fee for returning materials.
And also, you can request postponement of material’s lending period and grace of penalty period in case you have difficulty with returning materials due to unavoidable reasons such as infectious diseases. You are to contact the library to gain waivers.
- Please renew loan periods at our "Library Web Service" for materials that are within the loan period, not reserved by other patrons.
- If you think you have a COVID-19 infection, please contact us before trying to return materials
- The penalty period is the period during which you will not be able to borrow books. The library doesn’t charge fines for overdue books.

Book drops are available 24 hours next to the entrance of central library and north library.Note: do not put materials belong to other libraries than the Central Library and the North Library in book drops.


RETURNING BY A PARCEL POST (YU-PACK)Please send us materials by YU-PACK (a parcel post by JAPAN POST).
You are to pay the shipping fee for the parcel.
Note: If you have materials both from the Central Library and the North Library, you can send them in one parcel.
Note: Postage is to be paid by the patrons. We cannot receive a parcel by C.O.D. (payment on arrival).

(e. g. I think I have a COVID-19 infection. / I am identified to have been in close contact with the infected person. / I feel sick. / I am refraining from going out) - Estimated return date (e. g. 2 weeks later)
Note: You have to contact every library if you have books from Central Library and North Library. (It is okay to set two email addresses for ‘To’ of one email.)
REQUEST GRACE OF PENALTY PERIODYou can request grace of penalty period to our staff directly at the counter when you want to borrow materials at the penalized library.
