[Central & North Library] Library Booking Service for Non-HU Members

The Central Library and North Library Partially Resume Library Services with Booking for Non-HU Members on September 7, 2022.

We partially resume library services for: A) Researchers who belong to other institutions and wish to use our library materials for academic purposes and B) Persons who want to use Northern Studies Collection or Rare Books.

If you meet the conditions above and wish to use library materials, please make a booking via booking form THREE WEEKDAYS (except for weekends and national holidays) BEFORE VISIT (e.g. If you plan to visit the library on Monday, September 12, 2022, you are required to make a booking at least by Wednesday, September 7, 2022).
We send you a confirmation mail once you complete booking.
* If you received the confirmation mail and did not receive any other correspondences from us, you would use the library on the booking day.
You are NOT allowed to use the library without booking.

Please note in advance that your preferred date might be fully booked up since there are only limited seats available.
You are allowed to use the reserved seats only in the library.

Persons who want to use Northern Studies Collection or Rare Books	Please look through our Library Catalog or Northern Studies Collection Database and let us know in advance which material you want to use/read via booking form. Otherwise, we do NOT allow you to use the library. Please make a booking in advance and bring one of the documents 1) listed below (please bring HU Library card if you have one) on the day you visit, or we will NOT allow you to use the library. 1) Driver's license, certification of driving history, My Number Card, Basic Resident Registration Card (Juki Card), health insurance card (with your own address), passport (with your own address), residence card, or disability certificate, 2) Hokkaido University Library card (if you have already had one)	Weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:50 PM (Materials can be offered by 4:40 PM)	- Use/Copy/Take a photo of materials * If the materials are damaged, you can take a photo of them instead of copying. ** You are not allowed to use materials which other public libraries already have.

Please look through our Library Catalog or Northern Studies Collection Database and let us know in advance which material you want to use/read via booking form. Otherwise, we do NOT allow you to use the library.

Please make a booking in advance and bring one of the documents 1) listed below (please bring HU Library card if you have one) on the day you visit, or we will NOT allow you to use the library.

1) Driver's license, certification of driving history, My Number Card, Basic Resident Registration Card (Juki Card), health insurance card (with your own address), passport (with your own address), residence card, or disability certificate,
2) Hokkaido University Library card (if you have already had one)

Weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:50 PM
(Materials can be offered by 4:40 PM)

- Use/Copy/Take a photo of materials

* If the materials are damaged, you can take a photo of them instead of copying.
** You are not allowed to use materials which other public libraries already have.

Terms & Conditions

Please refrain from staying the library for longer than necessary.
Please wear a face mask properly in the library.
If you feel sick or have a fever over 37.5 degrees Celsius on the day you visit, please refrain from coming to the library.
Please use the book drops in front of the entrance when you return the materials. When the book drop might cause damage to the condition of the materials, please bring them to the circulation desk.
You are required to make or renew the library card to borrow materials. Please be aware that it takes some time to make/renew the library card.
You are NOT allowed to visit the library by car. Please use public transportation instead.
We ask you to follow the Acceptable Use Policy of Hokkaido University Library while using the library.
