How to make a library card
| ●Library Card | If you are an undergraduate student/graduate student at Hokkaido University, you can use your student ID card as a library card. If you are a staff member of Hokkaido University who have your IC University ID card, you can use your card as a library card. If you are a research student/auditor/Japanese studies student/credited auditor/ a staff member or researcher of Hokkaido University who does not have your IC University ID card/emeritus professor/retired staff, please make your library card.Please confirm your reception counter and necessary documents on the website shown below. |
| ●Entering | Gates are installed at the entrance to reading rooms.Insert the magnet strip of the library card /non-IC student ID card into the slot and run through it in order to pass through gates. Put the IC student identification card/IC University ID card at the designated location in order to pass through gates. |

Please come to your reception counter with anything to show you are affiliated with Hokkaido University.
*Application acceptance:
•Central Library and North Library:
From 9:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, we issue or renew your library card right away.
After 17:00 to 1 hour before closing time on weekdays and 9:00 to 1 hour before closing time on weekends and national holidays, we receive your application, and issue or renew the card on the next weekday.
•The others: Reception time is vary by library. Please ask your library.

However, for retired staff, we renew your library card right away from 9:00 to 1 hour before closing time on all opening days.
